Sort of depends on what you find.
Scrape any crud you find and use engine degreaser on the underside of the valve covers and in the pan.
You can use something like that on a shop rag to wipe down under the valve covers on the casting. Make sure nothing gets down into any holes.
Shouldn't be too big of a deal. If there is a lot of cleaning that need done, you have found an issue with the engine and looking at one of the bearings as suggested before would probably show a need to rebuild.

Probably all you will find is some crud to clean, but nothing that gets you too excited. Just need to check and be sure.

Heres the latest pic of what she looks like. Rain has been laggin the project down a little but once I get the pushrod and rocker arm problem solved I will be back full force at taking her out.
All that really needs to be done is supporting the tranny and unbolting it from the engine.

    The grille is out.
Can the radiator support thing that the top of the radiator bolts to that goes across just behind the grille be removed?
This would greatly reduce the height that I'd have to lift the engine making it a lot easier and I was planning on painting it anyways.
