    Is everyone nuts??? SOLD!!!!

    CAR SOLD TODAY!!!!!

First I thought I was nuts, but now I think it's everyone else!!! :Dou:

I just put my real '71 GS 455 race car for sale in the Buicks forsale on this site for dirt cheap and there seems to be little interest in it! $10,000 for a car that cost me and my sponsors $30,000 to build/rebuild 1 year ago. I know that race cars are not worth a whole lot so that's why the price is so low!
The Engine and Trans are worth more than that. Are you kidding me? Are people scared because the price seems to good to be true? $10,000 that it!
Do they want me to come down and do a 10.80 pass down their street to prove it?

Maybe I should ask $20-30K to make people interested. The car has full registration and is legitamate. I want to sell it to finish my 67 GS 400 resto,
    that it. No other reason.
Maybe I should sell it to a Chevy guy who will use it as a planter?

Hey Pete, welcome to the board! Yep, sure looks like a steal at 10k, and it LOOKS great too. :TU: It's only been on here for a couple days now, and we've still been having problems with the server situation, so I doubt that a lot of members have read the post yet. Give it some time, I'm sure you'll find a buyer here. No extra 10k in my bank though.

    Thanks for the Welcome!

I finally decided to get back into the Buick community after our Buick GS club folded up here about 4 years ago. Everyone was to busy to run it anymore, so the 65 members decided to split. It's great to see so many BUICK site around now.

    Talk to you later.

Your location may also be a problem for a lot of folks.

Give it a little time. We just got the site back, so people are not "back in the groove yet".

Does sound like a good deal. :TU:

I saw a 1967 GS 400 body and frame for sale, no rust, just body and frame, 1500 bucks.

Did I want it? HECK yeah, the '67 is one great looking car. Did I have the money? HECK yeah...but it was for rent

I don't know anyone with spare cash right now. Economy around here has been bad for years. Everything's expensive, but employers don't want to spend the money on salary...and who can blame them? I'm just happy to have a job

I've been accused of being nuts a time or 2 myself. I just bought a car. So, that's the excuse I'm going with now. :Brow:

#1. You live in canada, there's most of your buyers out the window right there.
#2. You've only been here 2 weeks at most.
#3. You've only got 5 posts so you're pretty much unknown at this point.

I would re list it after April when everyone gets their big fat refund checks. It should be a feeding frenzy after April! The sad fact is that nobody has extra money kicking around this time of year. Most people are still recovering from all the credit card bills from Christmas. Times are tough indeed.

Transport across the border is no probem as this car has full registration and is legit. Please do your research before you start putting down deals for other people!!! :)

There's no need to worry about buying a car from Canada. Transport across borders is nothing to worry about. So the living in Canada thing is no reason to not want to buy this car. As long as the car is legit. there's no problem.
I bought my 67 GS 400 from Seattle (1 hour south of here). Customs just checks it over and your done, pretty much that simple.

I here you! It's tax time up hear to. I would hold the car til later but I figure that if you want this car you should get it before the racing season starts. It makes sense!

I never put down any deal, I only pointed out the fact that the car is in canada, that's a long way away even from where I live and that's a pretty big thing people think about unless they're a millionaire or it's their absolute dream car.

I agree that these 3 things play a role in it. At least, that is how I view it on Ebay under these situations. When purchasing on there, I like several feedbacks to know a little about the seller, and the closer to me the better. For those in the US who live close to the boarder, it being in Canada would not be as big of a deal. It sounds like a great deal, and I am sure you will get a buyer if you stay patient. But, what do I know. I am nuts too!!

Don't get too upset about the sale Pete. Race cars are hard to sell anywhere and I think there are more street car and restoration guys on here than racers. I sold my 68 GS race car on here a few months back but had to part it out and sell rolling. This was a 10.0 car that had a very good win record at the Buick races for a very fair price and still took forever to sell. Ebay doesn't seem to be a very good place to sell a race car either, I tried a few times without even a decent bid. Try racingjunk.com and local drag strip sites if available. You could send it to me and I would race it at all the Buick events to advertise for you. That would take car of all three selling problems, I have lots of posts, I could deliver to any of the major Buick events and they are all after tax season. Good luck on your sale.
