Is the board slow again? It’s REALLY sluggish on my end, worse than yesterday, half page loading, etc.
"Orr" was actually a very fast skater...Bobby Orr that is. I also noticed the board was a bit sluggish earlier today.
It DEFINITELY is having its moments... I had one PM comment not post for over ten minutes, and was about to log out and it posted.
Are they giving you any information about it? Surely, they have narrowed it down to one of the 3 major areas: 1) Network traffic, 2) hardware or 3) software. Kind of like fuel, air, spark.
It has been pretty much OK for me. A couple of slow loads, but overall not bad. Not quite where it has been, though.
VERY inconsistent, but after I posted about it being sluggish it went back to lighting quick for a couple minutes
The earlier issuse we were having was due to not enough RAM in the server.. a reboot cured that issue.. this one is harder to pin down.. in the last 4 page loads for me, in the last 5 minutes or so, 3 have been as fast as my slow dsl will load, one was considerably longer.. A trouble ticket that I put in yesterday was responeded to with " That domain is loading with no issues right now"... please update us if that changes. You would think the fact that the ticket heading was "inconsistent load speeds" would trigger someone's curiosity, but sadly it does not appear that way. It's probably time to do an full software update and to re-index the database.. which always leads to all kinds of fun.. our rule of thumb over the 20+years of doing this deal has always been "If it's running good, don't fool with it". We are going to do that here, and we are going to have to up our game on the memory here.. One of our members shared with us his vast inventory of color charts, interior stuff, dealer sales brochures and a bunch of other stuff, for 1960-1975 Buicks.. Lots of cools stuff. We are going to put up a stand alone category for it, that will be read only.. and then we will have one section for questions/comments on that info. It's a ton of stuff, he made really good scans of it all, and the information is 3.9gig worth... so it will basically double the size of our database. Probably wont' do this till after the GS nats, my son is going to be involved with this deal now, and Mike an I are busy finishing things for the nats in the shop right now. JW
