What is the Date for this season's big Party?
What will the Theme be for this year?

And the most important question??? How many Lamb-Ka-Bobs will Bruno be bringing this year:beer

If a party happens, the sooner the better we get a date. I need to submit for vacation.:Do No:

Unfortunately, I think that I am going to have to bow-out of hosting the Shin-Dig this year. I've opened up my home and shop for the last 7 years. This past year, a couple of things came up missing from my shop, and more importantly -- my house. Quite frankly, it really bummed Cindy and I out. We work hard to host a fun time, but stealing stuff is not cool. Those of you that know me, and have been here, know that we live a modest lifestyle. I just can't afford to have anything else come up missing. I would be more than happy to pass the torch to someone else and help out in anyway possible.

That really sucks, Casey. I had a similar problem when I used to host winter meetings at my home for the Olds crowd. Others got into my lower garage that was attached to the family room and must have figured that everything there was for sale. The Ramrod was apart in there at the time and the door was locked, but there was another way in. One guy came out carrying the Ram Air aircleaner from my car and asked, what you want for this? He's lucky he's alive.

That is too bad Casey, but I totally understand. Too bad one or two spoil it for everyone else.

That sucks, Casey. I can understand your point of view. I enjoyed the little bit of time that I have spent at your place the last 2 years. Thanks for your hospitality.

Casey, After our conversation at Stanton, I truly understand how you feel. I've been going to your house for the Christmas gathering with my two sons and Brother for several years and so apreciated your hospitality. It was also great to see everyone when they are not thrashing and have time to just relax and talk. I have an idea cuz I really don't want to see this tradition go away because of one or two selfish idiots. How about renting a small hall in the area, split the cost amoungst the attendies and everyone bring a dish to pass and a beverage. IDEAS??

I was thinking the very same thing today.
Maybe check on a Hotel in the area that we can get the "Hospitality Room" kind of like at Stanton (actually at the Hotel in Alma) The Milan area seems easy for most people to get to, or have it farther North, closer to I94?
Maybe in Portland area, and do a shop tour at Tiemans and Jensens?
Just some idea's, I don't think this is something that should go away either.
Maybe hire a Security guard for the night, one of those big guy's named "Tiny" that usually works the door at a "Gentlemens Club":Do No:

I'm not sure if Dan or Scott want the guy(s) with sticky fingers in their shops, either.

casey, that really sucks. i was disappointed to hear after this years party that somebody/somebodies had sticky fingers. i've only made it twice and was really looking forward to this year too. its nice to have a happening to keep the "fires burning" in the middle of winter while the cars sleep. i've ben to dans too and i wouldnt think he or tieman would want a bunch of folks walking around their shops.

Casey, i've been to almost all of your parties, and really appreciated your hospitality, but to have thieves among us, is just uncalled for, and I can't believe that people we hang out with would stoop that low, but it happens, and makes the rest of us very leary of hosting such an event, that is supposed to make us better friends?/Family? and ends up breaking us apart, it's very sad. If someone wants to find a hotel with a conference room that is complementary for X # of rooms, I'm sure we would all be there.
We've had many Buick picnics, Christmas parties and garage tours, and not had any incidents that I have been made aware of, and hopefully will not ever happen, but it's a good idea to have your special "stuff" out of sight and locked up, just in case. :Dou: :Dou:  If I ever hear of anybody going after one of my friends stuff or taking things, anywhere at anytime it's :blast: :blast: for them, and 911 on the telly, immediately. This is very immature and totally uncalled for, to say the least. enough said!

    Roberta,
Problem is you never catch them. Better to do it at a restaurant or meeting hall, then we don't have to worry about it.

I have a hard time accepting that it was one of our own, that paints all of us in a bad light.
Are we sure that "Huck" and "Dub" didn't wander in off the street on the way home from the local tavern, and help themselves when nobody was looking?
