Is the Limited Slip the same as the Posi? If so i found a 1975 12 bolt with tires, brakes, and leaf springs for $100.00 Thanks in advance.
uhhh... well.... ahem...is it a 75 GM product? As far as I've ever known they are the same, but different. If that makes sense. The words mean the same thing, they do the same thing, But I'm not sure if they are interchangeable.
Well in that case anyone want to know where a 75 posi is? Its $100 and should bolt up to 71-76 GMs including Buicks. Thanks Trevor. :TU:
I think 'Posi-traction' was just what GM used in their literature instead of just calling it a limited-slip differential. Most people shortened it to 'Posi'. They sort of did the same thing when they referred to their alternators as 'delcotrons'.
i found a 1975 12 bolt with tires, brakes, and leaf springs for $100.00 Thanks in advance. ah, one of the infamous wagon rearends. do you know if it has C (rap) - clip or BOP retainers for the axles? what about the ratio? you can use 2-series carriers with 3-series gears but it takes a lot of shims and you need to know what you're doing. besides, we all want the 3 series gears anyways.
"Limited Slip" and "Posi" are the same thing ....now Traction Control is a whole different ball game. :bglasses:
Limited Slip Thanks for the info on "delcotrons" I was reading my 73 Buick manual for service tips on replacing my head gasket and it said "remove delcotron" a couple of times. I was like... What the heck is a delcotron? I thought it was that battery with the green eye in it.
The big Estate Wagons had leafs. My dad used to have a '72 with 12 bolt posi........and we junked it with the posi in it 20 years ago. ou:
