http://forum.yearone.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1490&PN=1 $250.00 everytime a FAST car is photographed in a magazine with a Year One sticker on the windshield........ Copo Pete and Jimmy could have retired by now....... So, I figure if I put some lightwieght valve stem caps on the vette, get a sticker.......... o No:
I would rather have the cash, and buy the parts from Fusick. :beer i was wonderring how long it would take before this started happening. :Brow: i wonder how much that rapper Ludicrus got for showing all those Year One stickers in his fast n furious video.
Wasn't Jack Irons disqualified from running at a F.A.S.T. race for among other things a sticker? o No:
I am going to sign up for the Martin race as a FAST car. I have no pride, I can be bought. I hope no one turns me in as a non-cheater....... What kind of modifications can I claim that are not verifiable ??? Aluminum Lug Nuts ? Stroked and Bored Windshield Washer Pump ? COPO fuzzy dice ? Stainless Steel Air Cleaner Wingnut ? Diehard GOLD Battery with more Cold Cranking Amps than stock ? Overcaffinated Driver ? ou: I am an idiot, as soon as I put a Year One sticker on the windshield, I am no longer Pure Stock. ou: see you chum at the racetrack........ :spank:
There is no minimum level of modifications required to run in F.A.S.T. Most Factory Stockers would pass tech if they were running the bias ply tires. Plus you can take off the valve covers and start doing some stuff to speed up the car! Come on over, come over to the DARK SIDE. :bglasses: :eek2:
Luke I am your Father It's like the handshake between George Bailey and Mr. Potter in It's a Wonderful Life" After consideration....I'll stick to P/S....don't want to artificially inflate the F.A.S.T. numbers. Acording to the E-Town Hemmings Article :af: Bozo's doing a good job of that already.
If I remember the 200 post thread, Jack was accused of not pulling a valve cover, Jack said he had a valve cover pulled all morning, there was an aluminum head issue, a lot of hard feelings, and then the thread disappeared.
Moderator Input Let's not dredge up the Jack Irons drama as it relates to F.A.S.T. Go ahead and voice your opinions on the Year One sticker fest, but lets keep it to that. :Smarty:
Or for wearing short pants on your one and only run in the first round after towing for 15 hours one way.
You're in good company Big Dave!! My buddy Brian (who just sold his 340 Duster magazine/book feature car) was spotlighted in the recent issue of Mopar Muscle. They ran 6 street cars in a bracket type event in Texas for the article. Brian was ~waved-off~ in the first round due to a lack of l-o-n-g pants. ou: They mentioned it in the article as well. You're not alone.
  Actually it did turn out to be a good weekend in spite of the DQ. I was the slowest qualifier (matched heads up against the fastest qualifier in a bracket, Gessler) who was 3 full seconds faster. So no big loss there. Rob Clary had the best advice. Do the burnout and just keep going, don't even stop at the tree. I was planning to do that, and if you know me, you know I would have. Geoff Stunkard shot the photos that were in the feature article in Musclecar Review, and the American Muscle Car interview for the "Screaming small blocks" was also taped at that meet. So considering that, the hundred or two beers I had with JJ and Geoff(your beer, JJ, thanks), it was a good weekend. Other than the racing itself!    Actually had my fastest run against Jack Irons in T & T. A 13.7 at 101. Redlighted big time and was ahead for at least 10 feet.
