Is this a switch pitch tranny?

    Found this in the trunk of a 67 Electra today and it has the 2 electric prongs on the left side. Is it a short shoft tranny? If so what is it worth?

    look at the pan. If it has a raised area that is shaped like a shoe's heel, it's a S/P.

    Looks like a SP input shaft to me. The stator splines measure about 1/2" as opposed to the fixed pitch 1". Look at the smooth machined portion of the input shaft, there should be an oil feed hole. Finally, check the ID tag on the passenger side. It should read BT for a 67 Electra. BTW, It's a short tail 400

    Tell him it is a regular TH400 and they go for $50-100.

    Otherwise....if you were to sell one, I would say $200-250.
