OK, so it's in and "running", but it is running rich on the passangers side of the block and has a miss on the drivers side. Any suggestions? Will the cam ever change the firing order?

THere are some things I know and alot of things I dont, this would fall into the things I dont. Thanks for any help.

Just a guess but from what you describe it sounds like the firing order is mixed up. Just in case, it should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 with number one being on the driver's side, closest to the front of the car.

More or less, it doesn't matter to the ignition where number one sits in the cap as long as the rotor is pointed at it at the appropriate time. It does make for a much easier time chasing gremlins if you look at one of the tune up guides for where number 1 is "supposed" to be and put it there to start with.

Find the number one hole on the cap, and count clockwise around the distributer, 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The drivers side of the block from front to back is 1-3-5-7 and the passengers side from front to back is 2-4-6-8. -Kevin
