Thanks for all the tips all along the way. Finally finished the timing chain job tonight and it started right up. Although, as careful as I was I missed the timing by a bunch - I could not find the mark with the timing light. It was way too advanced for some reason. Backed it off and settled it at 8 for now. That actually worked out well, because I didn't like the direction it was pointed in. Still have to check for leaks and take it on the road, but it IS alive.
