    Good Riddance

I couldn't believe the people on the news last night. I was appalled at the warm remembrances of such a selfish immoral man.

If the glove don't fit, you must aquit. LOL!

Even OJ himself couldn't believe the glove wouldn't fit. Does anyone remember the surprised look on his face the day he tried it on in court? He had a look on his face like he'd just won the lottery.

JimRamsey "Take 'em to the rim!"

    Boo-hoo

It would not fit because he was putting a glove on OVER another glove! When he killed those two people he only had one layer of glove on! I wonder if he is still "looking for the real killer" --Yeah right,he just has to look in a mirror. Good riddance J.C. and good luck with St.Peter! :Brow:

As far as I know , Jonnie Cochran did not kill anyone . The way that the system works is that everyone does thier jobs correctly then OJ is in jail right ? If the police, investigators and DA do thier jobs then OJ is in jail. PERIOD.
If they dont , then a defense attorney does his job. If he does it well his guy gets to walk and the system gets changed(investigators, police ,and DA). Thier processes get better so the next OJ doesnt get away. In the civil matter he was found liable ,his reputation is hammered, he cant make a living, etc. Total justice-- no . THE SYSTEM ---yes.
    OJ aside...
There are hundreds of cases every day where people are wrongfully accused. The police force a confession , evidence is mishandled, etc. Understand what that means . You didnt do it and now YOU are in the courtroom facing real jail time . Wouldnt you want somebody like Johnie Cochran standing beside you defending you.
Mr Cochran had a very long career defending individuals in just such circumstances. Poor ,disenfranchised, and yes even OJ. Unfortunatly he is know for his most public case which is very small when compared to a 30 plus year career.

By the way ,one of the first rules of criminal law is , if you dont know the answer to a question you shouldnt ask it . When the DA put the glove into evidence , dont you think they should have asked the question "I wonder if they still fit him" or "Judge , can Mr Simpson try on the gloves against his bare skin to simulate ACTUALLY wearing them."
I bet you they will next time.

Unfortunatly , the culture of late is that all lawyers are bad people . That they go home and sacrifice animals to the devil and dance around and chant or something . Until something happens to you . Then we are your buddies. Got a bad speeding ticket? Trying to release your car from the body shop?

I just hope that you guys that are giving such venemous comments about someone who has just died of a brain tumor-- a horrible death by anyones standards. Someone who has left family , friends , loved ones etc remember this ...
If YOUR life will be measured by one single deed , do you think you're ready to face your maker today?

I'm not one of those people who think all lawyers are bad. As with any career field, you have "some good ones and some bad ones". I'm sure that Johnny has done some good over his career. But to make a mockery of the court and change it from a murder trial to a "white guy pickin' on the black guy" thing. They forgot all about the victims and why they were there to begin with. He kept focusing on the racial aspect. Several years back, there was an explosion or leak here at a small town plant that employed a good percentage of the town. The NEXT DAY after the accident, Johnny showed up here in his jet and put an add in the paper that said he was sueing the plant because they didn't notify a nearby African American community first after the accident. (forget the elementary school nearby). The ad said "call me if you were injured, displaced, inconvenienced, or just plain scared by the experience". A few days later he packed up camp and headed back to L.A. and handled the suit from there. He came back and opened a franchised office here posting many ads on tv for personal injury for car accidents! What balls! I don't consider lawyers to be bad folks at all. Several guys I grew up with are lawyers now. You make your own reputation and what you're remembered for. Do good things and people remember that.

Johnny was a icon to his profession, and a disgrace to humanity. "Bam-a-lam, I said Bam-a-lam" It's a long, long fall Johnny. I hope he keeps a seat warm for OJ.

There is nothing wrong with being a defense attorney. What is wrong is the fact that many of these guys know without a shadow of a doubt that their clients are guilty. Based on knowing this the lawyer should do his best to make sure they get a FAIR trial which every defendent has a right to. However, scumbags like Johnnie C. totally go on the attack of those enforcing the law and paint the defendent as an innocent victim.

I don't hate the players but I do hate the game. You can't blame individual lawyers themselves, they are just making money off of the ignorance of the population that elects about 50% of the US Congress from one profession to create laws that nobody understands (including themselves) so that there will be controversy which creates more opportunities for their profession. I think there is a problem when 2/3 and sometimes 3/3 of the 3 branches of the federal government is controlled by people from 1 profession. I do not bash lawyers but I also DO NOT vote for ANY lawyer for ANY office other than a judgeship or state's attorney.

umm, I DO blame the ones who make careers out of profiting from, and maintaining the messed-up parts of our legal system. Not all lawyers, just the disgusting ones. Like Johnny C. :af:

Having been there as a businees owner having many employess, a lawyer and a lobbyist you are sadly mistaken. Most new laws at both the state and federal level are proposed by business interests. They are sometimes adopted verbatim and oftentimes serve as the plartform for new legislation. Most tax changes and the overly complicated tax code itself is a product of businees interest proposals seeking special consideration. Sometimes the messengers for the businesses are attorneys and just as often they are not. As we used to say you are in the right church but the wrong pugh.
