Jim, do forget, it takes you 500 miles to get into the United States. !!

John G. - If you are considering a host hotel, the BPG used the Red Roof Inn in Canfield as their host hotel. They have a huge parking lot, very reasonable rates, and are 15 minutes from the track. There are many good restaurants within walking (staggering) distance from the hotel.

Good luck with the promotion of the event.

    Because, Hurricane damage.......

My collector car Insurance doesn't list Hurricane damage as something that
    they cover :Do No:

Besides, is there anything left down there in Cuba,er, I mean Florida? :Dou:

    Back to topic......
Is somebody going to make me check into renting Osceola??? :bglasses:

I didn't realize you owned anything long enough for coverage to be binding...

Is Brainerd MN or Eau Claire WI too far for you folks to travel?? Brainerd may not be affordable, but it sure is nice! Rock Falls(in Eau Claire)is still a nice track, similiar to Stanton, would be much closer to MI(230 miles) and very likely affordable.

Eau Claire is fine with me, but Jim's gonna have to haul 1700 mi. !

It would be cheaper to buy the 300 deluxe from Millers buddy and fly to Eau Claire than to tow all the way up from Florida

If your going to include IL and IA, add in a couple more tracks for possibility. Cordova, IL and Cedar Falls, IA. There is also a new strip in close proximity to Iowa City that is NHRA. I can't remember the name of it at the moment. The problem occurs, who is going to run the event? Like someone said, for the event to be run correctly, the organizer cannot be running a car.
    Hey Tom,
If you are not busy with a car, organize the event at Osceola and we will come running!

John, as I said before Quaker is fine with me.....Ohio is a good change of pace.....heck I went to the Morroco Indiana FAST event....didn't see a lot of folks there I thought I would.

I was just suggesting that if including the FAST guys would make a succesful event (10 cars approx) then having a more western Ohio location (if possible) might help attract some of the 25 cars that came to Stanton from West / South West of Ohio also.

Even looking at the FAST guys drive, Joel, Terry and Wayne would have a shorter drive.....Greg wouldn't though.

Just looking at how many and where the cars come from...Quaker is fine with me.....

From a purely logistical point of view, Muncie is a pretty good alternative. Easy shot from Michigan (straight down I69), close to Ohio, really close to me  , and a lot closer for the western guys. Don't know if the track is any good, though. In fact, I didn't even know they had a track til someone mentioned it.

    Tom,
Tell me you're kidding about OC. I do know it can be had real cheap. Too bad it's not nicer, because it would be real handy for a lot of people too. :spank:

So where did we end up on another spring race?

Is there going to be another spring/early summer race besdie's the F.A.S.T.
    race at Martin?

Anybody ever looked into renting Milan :Brow: Casey?Brian?

I've kicked around the idea of renting Osceola, and haven't ruled it out, but
the biggest problem I see with having one of these type event's at Osceola,
would be getting the pairing's lined up in the goofy staging lanes :Dou: what
a mess they are :Dou: :Dou: We would almost have to split the field in half
and call them to the lane's at seperate time's, which would be total chaos
I see how much confusion goes on between round's at Stanton where the
race has been going on for year's now, and almost all participant's are
veteran's, and people still get it screwed-up :Dou: I can't believe Dan & Bob
have any hair left by the end of elimination's :Do No:

Looking back,i wished i would have not cancelled the Quaker City race,it would have been a good deal, with the two seperate classes.Even though we would have lost some Mich cars,we would have gained some others.Quaker was really enthusiastic, and was disappointed when we had to cancel.I thought Brian and Casey were gonna have a 2 day race in Michigan,if i had known that nobody was going to do a 2 day event,i would never have cancelled. Its kind of hard to get excited about a 1 day race, its not enough time to run it properly, and i know some guys that drive a long way, want a little time to relax.

Well John, their is always next year! Their doesn't seem to be any over scheduling of races for the participants. :TU: 2 day races are no more expensinve ($100.00 more) than the 1 day race. It's the time of year(spring or fall no holidays) and the time a person can get off of work.

    Jim :)

    Any Chance To Re-new?

John, any chance to re-new the mid-June race? I know Larry and I would come. Unfortunately you seem to be getting a bit beat up on the idea of Eastern Ohio. I agree there may be a more central track, but I really believe that most will come as they are already traveling.

I also liked the mixed classes as it should fill the grid out a bit more. And we all know that June needs that.

If I can help let me know.
