Hiya! How's the job? I'm not rubbing it in, I'm sorta jealous. Losing my job's not really a vacation, it's a little scary. So cheer up! Your job may suck, but you have one! I'm bored. Bored bored bored bored bored bored bored. I can't even go work on my car. In fact I'm so bored I'm going to go up to my shop, just to start it up. I'd work on it, too, but my shop has no heat, and it's pretty cold. Winter is boring. My apartment is boring. I put off taking down my Christmas tree till today just so I'll have something to do in the afternoon. Tomorrow my excitement is laundry. Oh boy, hold me back! I'm gonna party like it was on sale for $19.99.
I hope something comes your way soon! That's what I consantly remind myself of. It's not so much the nature of my work I hate, it's the lack of work. The printing industry is in the dumper big time. Of course the owner of my company is on all of us store managers to increase sales. "Get out there and cold call!" :moonu: Did alot of that this past fall, with no results. Not like 10 years ago when all you had to do was unlock the door everyday and have your sales increase 20% a year. I would like to go into some other line of work, but with the way things are these days I feel it's best just to sit tight. Besides, it's practically impossible to get fired from my company unless you do something really bad like having your hand in the till. Years ago when I worked a seasonal job and would be laid - off during winter, I would enjoy the first 2 weeks, then boredom would set in and would get a part time job to keep busy and supplement the unemployment check. Hang in there. It sucks to have all the time in the world to work on your car and at the same time not have the money.:ball:
Chris, I was right there this time last year. There was nothing for work, bored outta my mind. That rought when you run your own business. Now I work for the best place I've ever been in! The 2 months or so I was down was spent looking for a great permanent job. The time was well spent! Once the boredom clears, become a professional job hunter and keep yourself busy! Hope it turns around soon man!
Hey Chris, Wanna take a drive to Wichita Falls Texas and haul my '70 back to Long Island for me? That would keep you occupied for 5 or 6 days! Give ya a dolla!
If you have access to a flatbed and love to drive the open road maybe I can supplement your unemp. Most companies have quoted me numbers in the $800 range. Wanna Go For A Ride Clarise?(What movie?)
hey chris joke for ya Business conditions forced a manager to get rid of one of his staff. He narrowed it down to one of two people, Debra or Jack. They were both equally qualified and both did excellent work so he decided that in the morning whichever one used the water cooler first, would have to go. Debra came in the next morning, hung-over after partying all night. She went to the cooler to get some water to take an aspirin and the manager approached her and said: "Debra, I've never done this before, but I have to lay you or Jack off." Debra replied, "Could you jack off? I feel like ****.
