I've had my1982 Buick Regal since 1992. I've always run the V6, even found performance parts for it over the years. I figured I'd only swap to a V8 if I found an early Buick 350 for $100. Well, I did last year, and I'm finally tearing into it on the stand. It's a 1968 350-4 that was originally in a wagon, and most recently in an International truck. The previous owner said it had a water leak, and Wow, I found it. The front cover, right behind the water pump has a huge hole rotted into it. Lucky for me, I happen to have an odd-fire V6 front cover, and the only difference I see is the distributor hold down is different. Looking forward to the swap, but I'm going to take it slow. The 6 runs fine right now, and I'm actually happy with it as-is.
Very cool! If you aren’t in a big rush then you can do a nice job hopping up the 350! It doesn’t cost a fortune to make some good upgrades. I suggest all new gaskets a TA-212 cam. A timing set as well.
Actually got the gaskets, and have a v6 timing chain somewhere in my parts boxes. Once I get the heads off, I'll decide if I want or need to re-ring it.
