I told everyone a fews weeks back that I had a surprise in the works. It is a Apollo white 1970 GSX Stage1,auto,air,rust free Texas car.The former owners Jerry and Pam Berger had done a excellant job restoring the frame;R&R Restorations has stripped the body to bare metal, roughed in the bodywork, and primed.Rest of car in boxes.I will have to do some bodywork, block sand, paint, and assemble the car. Also will have to have the trans and engine built.I never dreamed I would own both a QQ and 10/10 GSX cars.I will try and post some pictures but haven't had much luck in doing so.
...winter project...? sounds good...your gonna have 2 post some pics..as well as before and after shots
to see some pics To see some pictures of the GSX go to http://members.aol.com/macb8/ this is basicly how car is at the present. The body has been sat on frame and some parts hung in order to transport but the body must come off again to paint floor pan. Thanks
Wow - Cool score Rusty! Someone has been saving parts for a while :Brow: PS - Look for a new Stage1 registry website soon (new domain name), thanks to gsxnut :beer
That body looks very nice! It looks like most of the grunt work is done, I don't see anything that needs attention on the shell. That will be one nice ride!
Hi Chris,Yes the body shell is very nice NO RUST at all!! Pictures hide some small dents and dings but the shell is excellant for a over 30 year old car.I will get the car registred with the Stage1 site soon Marco. Thanks
WOW! :eek2: I would NOT want to be the one reassembling all the dash pieces!! What a nightmare!! BTW, congrats Rusty. :TU:
Rusty - you dog! Wow Rusty, that is an impressive! Why did the Berger's sell? I sincerely hope it was just for lack of interest or something not terrible. Their loss appears to be your gain! Is this car the opposite of the QQ car in that it is an auto with air? Good luck man!
Hi Brian,Yes this is a auto and air car so will go well with the 4 speed non-air yellow GSX.I know Jerry is working two jobs at present so time factor possibly played a role in him selling the car.I did some trading with him to get the GSX.He got all my money and a 85 Ttype that needs motor work.I will say the work he did on the frame and chassis was top notch and he is a great person to deal with.I checked my personal messages a few days back and will see what I can find off the 69 GS parts car but will be a few weeks possibly before I get back to where it was.Post some pics of the 69 GS400 convertible you just got.
The "new" '69 Hey Rusty, No hurry on looking at the '69 again. I appreciate your offer to do it. I once posted a thread on the '69 I bought when it was first offered to me and then the owner decided to keep only to change his mind again.
Looks good Rusty, glad you have that dog there to keep the car from rolling off the trailer!
Hi Chris,Yes the dog[Dixie] is LOTS of help always;I can't even walk without her pulling on my pant legs, pups!!!
