hello everyone, i love your site. I just got my first buick two days ago. My father found a steal on a 69 riv that he had seen on his route. Hes a mail carrier. I was looking for a second car as i am soon returning to college and will need one. The engine is a 430 v8 and is in really good shape. there are only 44,000 original miles on it. There's still work to be done but im having trouble locating any information on this car. If any one knows where i might find a wiring schematic it would be a great help, or if any one has just some random and interesting info id be grateful since this car is still new to me. Im trying to learn as much as i can. thanks

Although I can't help you with the tech because I'm more of a driver of these cars, I welcome you to the board and family of buick car owners. The 69 Riv is a really nice ride. Drive it and enjoy it, memories in the making.

    One smoootthhh ride.

    New Dude --

I would hate to spend 35 cents (or whatever it is now to send a letter) to help someone out, but I think the wiring diagrams you are looking for are in the assembly manual. I could easily copy them and mail them to you.

Hell, I guess I could scan em, too! Woo hoo, just saved cents!!

I'll check the assembly manual this weekend when I get home. If your interested, let me know where to e-mail them. (Gonna be a long slow download, I imagine.)

I also have a 69 parts car with a real nice interior if there is anything minor that you need to complete your new ride.

    Hi nameless new guy,
Check out Yardley's Riviera site. He has replaced almost every nut and bolt on his '69 Riv and gone through the effort to share tons of info with us. I have yet to find a site with more stuff on the '69 Riviera.

    Hi,

I addition to the site mentioned above I have found this organization very helpful. Here is the link to the Riviera Owners Association.

    Enjoy that 69 Riviera.

Click here: Riviera Owners Association, dedicated to restoration of the Buick Riviera. If That didn't work it is www.roa.org

    Thanks everyone.

newguy, we are all on a friendly first name basis here. By all means, keep your nick-name in your avatar, but please sign your posts so we can be buddies. :beer

I have wiring diagrams on my site. If you need the full schematics I can get them copied for you. They are a "fold-out" page and in color, so I'll need to find a copy place that can do it.

Scroll down just past half way on this page...

And joining the Riviera Owners Association is MANDATORY when you own an old Riv. And joining the BPG should be mandatory too. If $$$ are tight, membership is a nice Christmas gift or birthday present.

Oh, and post any new Riv-specific questions in the Boatload of Fun forum. It's just for quacks like us who love big honkin' Buicks.:TU:

Welcome aboard! Email or PM me with questions. And DON'T be shy. Ask me first before you make mistakes. There are correct ways to do EVERYTHING on these cars. Even something as odd as adjusting the trans "kick down" switch by the gas pedal.
