What's best way to launch with 9.5 3000 stall off idle or get rev's up

You will have to try. Most cars won't like leaving a full dead idle, try 1200, 1500, 1800, 2100,etc and see how your setup reacts

Pretty sure Jim recommended I go off idle.

I think was I was trying to tell Larry, apparently poorly, is that most combinations don't respond well to loading it tight against the converter.

When we race with these converters, we see the max flash stall speed, holding the rpm up to just where it will respond instantly when you go to WOT.. the last car, with a Dominator on it, wanted about 1300 rpm or so..

As Ben said, most combos don't like to leave off dead idle. Hold it up a little to keep it cleaned out.. I typically recommend 12-1400 rpm on the line.

Yes, my Switch pitch set up wanted as much RPM as I could hold with the brakes. That got me the best 60' time. My testing of the new converter at the track was cut short by a pesky transmission leak. The air at Cecil that day kinda sucked anyway. Absolutely love this converter on the street though. It goes right to the sweet spot when I get on it, and it plays nice with the Gear Vendors.

I asjust my starting line rpm to help my reaction time......eveb more so now that I'm on a trade.

Its no fun at the light to have to use so much left pedal at the light.....there is alot that goes into this......depending on front and rear suspension setup, coil springs, they all will effect your launch sweet spot. Even how much traction at the track on given day can and will effect this.

Its truly a trial and effort thing.....and you need several hits at each rpm to get a average of what its doing actually......
So 1 day run all day at xxxx rpm, next time out run all day at another....if you notice after a few passes nit much change or big change one way or another that will point you in a direction to try and go

I see 0 et difference in a 2500 rpm foot brake or a 3600 transbrake launch.....but there is a huge reaction time difference
