Ok, the research part would be a lot easier if I had an old Kenne-Bell catalog handy . . .

If you can give me until tomorrow evening, I'll be able to give you an answer.

    John,
Here is what I found on another site..
    KB MARK C107 "499"
Affectionately referred to as the "Window Rattler" because of it's ultrawild lope and crisp throttle response. For big blocks only. The unusually long duration, coupled with the relatively low lift makes for a unique idle that has everyone believing it's a .750" roller. Power is condensed between 3300 and 5800. Cam is actually our 1970-71 Stage 1 NHRA cheater cam that has held so many NHRA class records over the years. Cam profile was completely re-designed in 1991. Now .499" lift and smoother fast ramp profile. Cannot be street driven without a KB Switch Pitch or other high stall converter. .25 seconds and 2.5 mph faster than a KB MARK 118. Idles at 1000 rpm. Good bracket cam. Requires piston notches, KB Springs and Retainers and lower gears. The cam that beat all comers at the '91 Buick GS Nationals in Norm Diehle's '71 GS Junior Stocker - 11.64 / 114.5.

    Thanks Frank.

I was mainly concerned about the use of notched pistons and the high stall that's recommended. I've been told that notched pistons aren't exactly necessary, but I wouldn't want to take a chance on that. Looks like I might have to look into a higher stall, and since my rear differential isn't finished yet, I can make changes to that as need be.

Trying to make it as much of a drag car as possible, and yet, be able to "limp it along" on the street.

Wonder if I can manage to run power brakes? :Do No:

Waiting to hear back from Eric.

I ran that cam for years with a booster and drove it on the street hard.

I was young and drove the car everywhere and never rear ended anyone, but you will not have great brakes............they will just get you by.

You need atleast a 3,000 stall - and then still plan on poping her out of gear at the stoplight now and then

I loved that cam though - mean, nasty idle at 1100 rpm

Notched pistons on your build? I'd like to clear that part up a bit . . .

I'd love to hear how it sounds coming out of some open header Super Scavengers! :Brow:

Yes old KB forged notched pistons......

I think with its duration you need notched........not 100% sure though.

    I remember it is 240 in / 260 ex at .050
