keeping cast iron and steel from rusting

    hey what r you guys doing to keep the master cylinder and other steel parts from rusting.i have my car garaged and my cast iron is still starting to rust and plated pieces are still fading,my garage is not climate controlled but not a leaky barn eithier...........

    graphite spray works great, a couple of sprays about 2 or 3 times a year keeps them looking new. Last bottle I got was from Napa, not cheap but lasts a long time.

    Eastwood sells a brake fluid tolerant cast iron color paint for master cylinders. Everything else I ospho and paint. I live near the coast in Florida, everything rusts here.

    Recently saw a product comparison for rust inhibitors. The winner was wd-40 specialist rust inhibitor. Bought a can.

    On clean, new cast iron (like my MC) I usually just hit it with clear coat.

    Bacon grease and 350F for an hour.
