    Hi guys !

I took my passenger side's kick panel out today to solve a minor water leaking problem . I have some stuff for sink that look like the original sealer that stay "soft" and removable in case . I don't know if that will work for long so ...

What I'd like to know is what would be the right stuff to apply to seal the kick panel correctly to the body ?

If I had to remove kick panel again I'd like to have it paint , do you have any tip for a good cleaner and paint type ? I read that driver's panel is a pain to take out so I will more probably paint it in place .

I shot all of my my hard plastic pieces with lacquer paint purchased from any of the parts places (like Y/O, OPG). Actually I got my paint from Chevyland since they are local to me. Cleaned using lots of soapy (dish detergent) hot water and stiff tooth brush.

Paint took great and was flexible enough to be man-handled back into the car with no damage.

I just reused the original sealing stuff.

Driver side was about twice the job of the passenger side. Gotta take out the parking brake pedal - reconnecting the upper cable on a vented car is a major pain. Remove the seat to make it all easier. Don't forget to put new carpet on these. Legendary makes up some beauties. When painting tape over a pattern for the carpet glue - original stuff was stapled - I used glue for the reinstall.

Plumbers putty? Or the stuff the A/C guys use on the outside compressor where the copper line goes into the house. They use that goopy putty that looks like playdoh. I've enver figured out where to get that stuff. Does anyone know?

    plumers putty

Get plumers putty from Home Depot/Lowes or your local hardware store. As for the kick panels:If yours are plastic, wipe with laquer thinner to get grease, oil ,etc off. Shoot panel with SEMS plastic dye from a rattle can. Ken

The item description on the 3M website read like this:
What do you think of that ? It's a little expensive (25$ for 60 feet) but if it get the job done that worth it 10 times. I'll check for the plumber putty price and property tomorow
