Um... that one is GONE.... The one you're thinking of was called B&B - all the junkyards in that area (Faust, Raisin' Man, and all the rest) are no more. Barry's is about 30 miles into Mississippi around Gulfport. Too bad... they did have a late 60's Pontiac Firebird somewhere in that pile of old stuff. When I go to Barry's I'll let you know if I see anything as I plan to do some browsing around.

    Oops

My apologies Geeto 67, the yard you are thinking of was L & L Auto Salvage, not B & B. I was thinking of something else.

Well, I went to Barry's and they didn't have what I was looking for but he did give me some places to look.

I will continue this story under Junkyard Jewels later this week... something really freaky happened.:eek2:

    On Second Thought

    Bad News...

I won't be looking for any parts as the Buick was hit pretty hard yesterday on I-10 while I was exiting an on-ramp. Thank's to everyone for your help in locating parts but it now seems I am going to become a supplier instead of a buyer now.:ball:

I'm keeeping the drivetrain and I am going to part the car to the point it will be driven away on a flatbed as a chasis with a shell (unless anybody else wants it.)

Two accidents in two months? I think it is a divine sign to let the Century go... maybe this is my chance to get that 73 Riviera I always wanted...

Here's a pic of the damage... I don;t even know where the quarter extension went.. nowhere to be found.:Do No:

He hit me so hard that his truck went under the Buick and his tire exploded!

Geeto 67 - I never told you, but the Buick belonged to a late friend of mine - maybe she's sending a sign... well, I got the message now!!!

Even though I'll be Buick-less, I'll still be around 'till I can get another one, maybe put the 350 in a 85 Regal or somethun....

Byron, sorry to hear of the demise of your Century.I tell people all the time,I have driven through Los Angeles,Las Vegas,Phoenix and many other major cities, and the worst drivers are here in New Orleans.Maybe this accident will pay for another car,of course out here, they might not have insurance.

One of the towing companies located under the I-10 overpass (I can't remember which one) In New Orleans had a 1964 rivera for sale a few months back. I don't remember if it ran but it had some surface rust on the panels that made it look like hell. YOu may want to check it out if you have a running drivetrain it might be a good start on a classic car.

Check the bridge house for cars as every once in a while they turn up something cool (like the 1966 olds jetstar that I passed on for $800 with 60K original miles, every option, and no rust...what an idiot I am).

I assume that the century had a v-8 in it so maybe you could think about droping it into an 70's A body (malibu, cutlass, skylark, tempest) or an 80's regal with T-tops and make a street screamer out of it. There are enough rotting buicks in that city that a shell ready for an engine in a more desirable body style shouldn't be hard to find. (knippers has a 442 convertable shell that needs floors and a few patches but it otherwise straight and might be a good project with buick power)

I'm sorry to hear about the century it looked like a great car. If the frame isn't bent it might be worth it to fix it (think of it as a learning tool to teach yourself body work). Hopefully whomever you got into an accident with has insurance and you are getting an influx of cash.

    Insured - Yes

Yes they were insured. I am thinking of buying Popaluv66's Riviera.. it has the nailhead, dual quad intake, rally rims... some assemble required (it's completely apart... COMPLETELY) but we'll see what hapens!!!
