Here is a 62 Corvette as it sits today. Absolutely perfect body. Car was taken apart to restore. Gentlemens son who was helping him died and he has not the energy to complete the father/son project. Sad situation that will not be sold.
More stuff This is a 66 427/425 HP Corvette Convertible. Totaled in 69, is was rebuilt by a friend of mine, sold and totaled again in 71. He bought it back and parted the car. Been sitting since in Alabama. Owner still has the original window sticker, protecto-plate and bill of sale. Another friend has the engine and transmission. Can we say resto project? Not for me!
Last one This is a 69 corvette 427/400 HP convertible. It has 12,000 original miles. Those were hard miles! Totaled in 1971. What's left is for sale for $1,000. Not for me but maybe you?
Wow, talk about basket cases. You should find a corvette board to post them on, I'm sure somebody would buy some of that stuff. :eek2:
I have an 84 diesel suburban and I have been very sick in thinking of putting the diesel in my 70 Skylark. Turn the fuel to it and watch the black smoke roll! No I'm not a Carolina Redneck! Jimmy Dinosaur Race Team
Yes you are! :beer Kind of funny to think about. "Introducing the new for 1970.... Skylark DuraMax! "
Speaking of Duramax. Local salvage yard had one complete sitting on the floor. About 2K on it, engine, transmission, wiring, computers etc. Great for a repower. Asking price complete was about 22,000.00 Canadian dollars. Works out to about 14,000.00 US. Anybody looking?
diesel power thats almost as sick as putting a turbo on the olds 5.7 disel and then headers and then into buick eeekk shh dont tell any one:grin: :beer
Isnt the 6.2/6.5 GM diesel based off of a 5.7 Olds diesel? I know a guy who put a 403 in his chevy 3/4 ton pick up after the 250k mile 6.2 diesel crapped out. He said the motor mounts all bolted together. Im not sure what he did about the trans, maybe a turbo 400. ________ Wellbutrin Settlement
diesel no the 5.7 diesl is a olds motor and by the time they figured all the bugs out they scraped it . the 6.2 is like a chevy block design probably why it al bolted together so nicely:grin:
Detroit The 6.2 diesel was a joint venture with Detroit Diesel! GM finally got smart and used someone with years of diesel experience. Their are many 18 wheelers with Detroits in them. The old 318 was a favorite for years They even built V12's and had them installed in cabover trucks. They were capable of smokey burnouts and 4 MPG. Most Detroits were two strokes and were known for leaking lots of oil. One Truck repair shop in Wilson had a picture of a Detroit engine hanging on the wall with oil running down and onto the floor! Detroit finally came out with the 60 series 4 stroke inline 6 cylinder with all the electronics that has been doing well. Jimmy
