Bodywork is almost done. I haven't been able to find a post driver's side door. Mine is crumpled too badly for my metalwork skills. Going on 4 years now since I have been rolling around with a door that doesn't match the rest of the car. Now, about that 350...
Waiting on pullies from ebay. The 350 pullies just don't line up correctly. I have both the short and the long nosed water pump on loan, but neither line up with the crank. I think I have convinced myself that it is actually a pulley problem despite what I have read elsewhere. The best thing about it: I have never painted a car, done bodywork or even most of the engine work before. I almost look like I know why I am doing. Almost.
Coming along real nice. Doors look pretty good here. And whatever else you might need. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?243433-1972-Buick-Skylark-Post-car-for-parts
And then, I was like, "this puppy needs 3" exhaust for those hooker headers." So, I learned how to weld over these past couple days. Why the heck not.
Lookin good Yergi..but ditch the stick and learn to mig. You can do alot more with it. Keep up the good work and keep the pics coming.:beers2:
I've had the TV cable hard set for the past few days (and not playing with the car) while trying to figure out how/what to fabricate in order to get the 700r4 TV cable to interface with the throttle linkage. After weighing in the cost/pain-in-the-a$$-ratio for fabricating everything, I decided that the best thing to do was to just swap out the qudrajet for something that had an arm for the TV cable in the right place/angle/throw. I have read that if you get this part wrong, you can burn up this transmission very easily. So, I went with an Edelbrock AVS 800 cfm with an electric choke. I'm glad that I did. I still had to fabricate a back bracket for the TV cable, but, I think it came out looking lovely. (Yea, I know, I have to pretty up that wiring mess. But, first things first!)
