I have to replace the ignition lock in my GS and was wondering what keys are supposed to be the same?

I seem to remember the trunk and doors being the same, along with the glove box and the ignition being the only one that is different, is that that correct?

Also, I read a post a while back that said people were having issues with the quality of the Year One repro lock, is that still the case. Is there another source for the locks?

And while I'm at it  , how the heck do you get the ignition cylinder out of the steering column? My dad tried it the other night and couldn't remember how he did it the last time, and I don't want to break anything by trying too hard to get it out.

    Thanks!!!

Door and ignition are same, trunk and glove box same. Getting the lock out is easy to do, but real hard to describe. Remove the wheel, lock plate and turn signal switch. If the lock has never been out there is a vertical indentation at about 2 o'clock in the pot metal of the column. You must break through the thin layer of metal in this indentation and insert a thin metal tool to depress a release tang on the side of the lock cylinder. Lock cylinder must be in the Run position to come out. Really helps to have pics...
Ignition cylinder is still available new GM (Got one at Scotty's in BG last May-changed in hotel parking lot... :Dou: )
