Mark, Are you leaving Friday or Sat. a.m.? Just wondering who all is going to be there Friday night since I went ahead and made reservations for both Friday and Sat. nights. Dee
may have found a new member for the lspbc Had a gentleman bring his 87 GN this week to the dealership. Sweet ride. Told him about the car show this weekend in Plano, and appears he will attend/particapate. Car has 18,000 miles. Anything for the sport:beer Also told him about the Buick performance club here in Texas and he says count him in.
Thanks Phil Got the pic posted. Bricks under tires the only thing keeping me away from the bash. (well, maybe the motor out too)
Mark, I'm leaving Saturday morning as well. Myself, you and Dee we all need to coordate a place to meet up.
We'll be coming down I-35. We could pick up Dee in Lewisville and meet you south of there someplace. We need to trade cell phone numbers before then.
Captain Mark, Don't have a cell but my work number is 972-219-3670. 8-5/M-F. Just give me a call and we can trade #'s. Are you coming from Plano and what route do you plan on taking over to I35W? Just a warning. My old granny mobile usually doesn't run over 70, so we might need to make an early start of it. Will that be a problem for you guys? Can't forget about Jeff. He's taking his car too. We'll both be leaving from Lewisville. Dee
I'll be coming down from Gainesville. I don't like to go over 70 in the GS either. With the new rear end it goes 68 mph at 3000 rpm. When we go on a trip like this I'll get in front in the turbo car and set the cruise at 65 mph. Seems to work out OK. We could meet you at the Chik-Fil-A at Main Street and 35 at 7 am. That should put us in Temple at around 9:30 - 10. We can pick David up at 20 and 35, south of Dallas, at 7:45 ish. Looks like we got ourselves a convoy!:beer
I'm all for that:beer I run about 65-70. I'll see ya at 745am on the shoulder of I35E just past I20. Mark my cell is 214 629 7429
I will need some volunteers to help me with the BBQ stuff (cooking) if you can help let me know. Thanks guys
another question..... Who do we trust in this area(Texas) to do our machine work? Heard alot of good stuff about Jim Buerk out in El Paso, but was hoping to find someone a little closer. Looking for someone with a torque plate and some BBB past experience, I have a friend that has built many of em, but we always have trouble with machine work. Feedback.........
Wayne, there are a few but If you could afford to swing it, send to Jim, He can arrange shipping at an excellent rate. I have worked with him and he is a stand up guy. At least you know he can build a buick. Just my thoughts and I am sure he can discuss the details. He is on this board under buick535. He frequents the 455 and 350 forums and he is good about answering emails and PM's. Maybe someone else knows a good machinist also but you have on of the best buick builders right here in texas. Ok off my soapbox
Re: another question..... Calvert Automotive in Denton. These guys do some of the best machine work ANYWHERE.

Thank Cars with V8's attending Phil Green Chris lott David Newton Dee Jeff bullock Jarrod Campbell Nicholas Sloop David Atkinson Dan K Mark Metdker Steve Campbell Jim Netherland (not sure if he is coming he mentioned he may) Adi Glatz Speak up if your not on this list Thanks guys I also have a few more v8 guys from austin to contact so this is a partial list so far.
I think Wayne Emmit said he would be bringing his convert. Stage1 car. I'm bringing the street car. My 69' is down for paint and body. I'm stepping the street car up a notch for this event. EJ fixed me up with a 9" converter. Added upper adjustables and instant center relocation bars. No more 12.30s with 1.89 60s.:Brow: If I can come with some tires that fit and hook the 71' should be in the 11s or 7.60s. I plan on spanking my fair share of 'X'.:bglasses:
