i threw out an idea in the "alum.head" thread a little while ago that a 350 girdle should be awful similar to a v6 girdle and relatively easy ( a guess ) , small interest , talked to ta the other day on something and asked them about that ( 350 girdle )and they said they had looked in that direction but felt the interest would be low . i have a good local machine shop that does some work for me occasionally and am interested in having a trashed v6 girdle to measure/compare/cut up/brainstorm . i'm thinking this may be worthwhile since there is the move (?) towards some higher rpm top engine parts (intake/heads) . anyone know of shops already working in this direction , waste of time , good idea , bad idea , hidden problems , bad voodoo , good voodoo ????????? del
GIRDLE been there , done that . set up a turbo acct and listed a post there at the same time . thanks del
Del - I have a contact down here in the Binghamton area that currently does the machining for some SBC, BBC, SBF & BBF girdles. I had discussed doing a 350 Buick girdle with him a couple of years ago. He said as long as we would do a minimum run of 25 girdles, he would be glad to procede. Price seemed quite reasonable too.
