mornin' . this summer i am going to attemp to get out a little more and check some swaps for carbs to rebuild etc . and other stuff too , depends . already go to LV in november and sometimes their fall show . rhinebeck is mid july i think , something up on rt#20 in bouckville coming up also i think . just wondering if anyone knows of something not normally advertised but good sized enough to make a road trip worthwhile . mohawk valley , hudson valley , finger lakes , north country etc . north Pa also probably . i am near oneonta,ny for reference . thanks .
The Model A Club's Car Show in Wampsville on Sept 9 has about the biggest swap meet section in CNY. I'm not aware of anything in Bouckville that is car specific. The big Antique Week is Aug 13-19 on Rt 20 in Bouckville. oh yeah , wampsville . did go there once . i'll dbl check my bouckville info ( edit : nope - it was old info I saw ). I saw the week long antique show , that looks like quite the zoo . good sized . and I was kinda thinking about the nationals . never gone before .
The Syracuse Nationals are an amazing show. Suggest you go on Fri or Sat as a spectator to take it all in without worrying about a car. About 8000 cars register for the event. Loads of vendors too. Stand on pedestrian bridge to parking lot over 690 at closing time and just watch the cars leave - an awesome sight. UticaGeoff
Back about summer 1984 ( I remember that because my lovely wife was with me - about 6 months pregnant ! ) They had the CC street machine east Nationals there . That was pretty good . The next year we were pushing a stroller at the Watkins Glen CC east Nationals . A couple of guys that I know go up . Always have good things to say about that .
