I am told the stock aluminum lifters are causing all the noise. It has been suggested that I get "Roller Rocker Arms" (adjustable) to quiet things down. Do any of yall have a set for sale for a 350 V8 Skylark '72?
The reason alumnium rockers make noise is because they wear big grooves in the shafts. IMO, they belong in the dumpster. When I ran TA roller rockers on my last motor, the rocker towers had to be clearanced to not interfere with the rockers. For a stock or mild build, find you some stamped steel rockers. They will provide plenty of trouble free miles.
