Looking for a 200 4R for my small block GS, closer to MN the better. What’s out there, ready to run would be preferred.
Ken, be sure to read all the threads (especially stickies) about swapping to a 200-4R. You'll have a LOT of fun. Carb mods and TV cable set-up especially, or you will just be throwing money down the drain.
They are getting harder to find, particularly good ones. Besides the one in my `65, which I had freshened this winter, I have two others. One other `87 GN trans and converter that is also freshened up same as the one in my car (It's my spare, just in case) and another from an `89 Caprice that was rebuilt stock but with a Transgo kit. Of course, I'm a hoarder. I have friends who want to buy these and I won't even sell them to them. Sorry, but keep looking, one will turn up. It'll be a bonus if you can find one from a GN or a Monte Carlo SS, they have a better valve body. Call these guys, they don't have a 200-4R listed this week but I'm pretty sure they have them ready to go. If not, they can build you what you want and the can ship. They do all my transmission work. https://rockford.craigslist.org/pts/d/rockford-fresh-rebuilt-turbo-350/7085637627.html
If interested I have a couple of Quadrajet carburetor cores with the correct throttle shaft linkage connection on them. You can change out the throttle shaft on your original Q-jet so that you have the correct geometry for the TV cable. Email me for pics, etc.: drolds1@bellsouth.net.
