Hi guys I’m looking for a 73-77 El Camino and I’m not having any luck locally. I’ve had great luck buying US cars and importing them so I’m casting my net larger in hopes to get a low rust specimen of this rare but not particularly valuable car. I don’t need it to run or drive, I really only need a good body and frame. I would be running a EFI turbocharged buick 350 and 2004R using spare parts I have here. Would do all new suspension and brakes as well.

    Pic for reference.

cash paid for anyone who finds me something that isn’t 500+ miles away from Edmonton Alberta Canada.

Yes that was my plan in fact, the Laguna front end. I was just going to buy this for $599 and lighten up the front while getting the look.

Did you try Hector? He is in a dry climate so the bodies would be good out there.

All the ones in my area rusted out by the mid 80’s.

I agree. I think one from out west is the way to go.

I think a 73-77 Buick El-Camino would look great, if that’s what you want to do.

    My car needs a brother.

I had a 73 with the original 454 in it for years. Despite the severely rotted out floors, it was a torque monster and rode and drove great. It was stock with a Summit HEI, Edelbrock Performer intake, and Holley 3310 750 cfm carburetor.

Hi guys I think I found one! I posted a wanted add and a really nice guy contacted me about this car that he had decided to sell. It’s a 305/th350 77 model with a messed up interior and very solid body! It hasn’t ran in 10 years but I don’t mind a bit, I will remove the emgine and trans immediately anyways. To top it off it has a Laguna front end that comes with it.

haven’t made a deal yet but I’m just itching to get my spare 12 bolt rear, 2004R and turbo buick 350 into it!

    No too shabby looking!

Those interior parts are really tough to find in decent shape.

Also, what did your 12-bolt come out of? I know that the 72 and lower 12-bolt is not a bolt-in affair. I think that the mounting points are different dimensionally.

Yes all good points. The 12 bolt is from a leaf sprung truck so further thought shows it may be more hassle than its worth. The 8.5 in the Camino should be fine to build up with 30 spline axles etc.

Yes interior parts could be an issue, although I don’t mind a custom look so I’m not too worried about that either. The car is local so that helps however it will come down to how much $ the guy needs to get out of it. I need to go look at it again and see if I can get under the car to assess the hidden areas.

The 8.5 inch Chevy rear is almost the same, strength wise, as the more coveted 12 bolt. Same pinion shaft diameter, the ring gear is only slightly smaller - 8.5 versus 8.875 inch.
