My little brother get's his temps in a month and he'll be needing a car. If it'll move under it's own power and has 4 wheels, I'll consider it. This is in watertown (SE) wisconsin.

What does "get's his temps in a month" mean ?

Something like a temporary drivers license ? How does this work ?

We think that it's amazing that you allow children to drive a car at the age of 16,
and at the same time have an old fashion rule that you can't drink in a public bar under 21....

That's too nice for a kid in high school. :TU: I'm looking for a beater for him to drive until the wheels fall off, that's a beater that I'd end up restoring. :Dou: Half dead transmission, rust everywhere, barely starts, shocks and springs were dead 30k miles ago, etc, just like the $200 one I had.

At 15 1/2 you can get your temps. Here that means you can drive (after you take a drivers ed class) but you'll have to have an adult in the car with you. At 16 you get your "full" license but in my state we now have the GDL (graduated drivers license). This lasts until you turn 18 and puts some more restrictions on your license, can't drive after dark without an adult, ticket points are doubled, and some others I can't think of at the moment.

Looks like a good deal but yahoo maps says it's about 8 hours there and 8 hours back if I didn't stop and about $250 worth of gas.

Gary Gary Gary!!! Where were you when I was looking for a car for my 15.5 year old daughter!! We ended up buying her an 87 Monte Carlo SS before she even had her drivers permit. Its real rough but I thought it would give me and Denny sometime together trying our hands at body work. (I guess working at GM, in the paint department, gave me a little confidence ):) Lemme know if you still have the car as Denny has a 17 year old daughter that doesn't have a car yet!
