Looking for a black air cleaner cover for a 1970 GS455. Have a chrome one currently and I think black was correct. Year One is the only place that I've been able to find one but they're carbon fiber and $149.00. If anyone has one in decent shape please let me know. Thanks, Robert
Thought about it Bill, I though about doing that but I really don't think it would come out smooth enough. There is some pitting and high spots on the chrome. Do you have one in pretty good shape? If so, how much would you want for it shipped to 33990? Thanks, Robert
Thanks George Hopefully I'll find a good one. The one I have now isn't a good canidate for a redo. Always appreciate your input.
I'll be glad to recondition it Bill, I'd be glad to recondition one that can be brought back. I appreciate your looking for one. Thanks, Robert
Hey Robert. .If Bill..... Hey Robert. . If Bill can't come up with a good one for you, I have a few real nice lids. :beer Keep me informed. :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay PenWheelz@ij.net
..perhaps we should. . . Robert. . .perhaps we should hook up. I frequented Cape Coral years ago when I had a large Photo-Graphix company here in Clearwater.. I did almost all the graphics for the "sales Center" for the large Resort at the southern-most point at the pass, with the really nice restaurant. . can't remember the name. Sometimes I would entertain a few clients at the "Winghouse on the main street" in Cape Coral. I love that part of the west coastline. :beer Anyway, I'm actually in Pinellas. I started Skylark Drive Buick Club back in '93. I've been restoring Buick Muscle since 1971. Have tons of parts should you need anything, let me know! BTW... NICE LOOKIN '70 ya got there! Sounds good! I'm new to all of this. Caught the bug two years ago after riding in my brother in laws '72 GS455 convertable and finally found a good car. Bought it six months ago. Been working on it ever since - man am I learning alot! Thanks for the compliment. It's a 20 footer. Going in for a paint job in a week or so. Do you know of anyone that does bumper work? The front bumper that came on the car was pushed up in the center about 1-2 inches. I bought one from "chromeminer" and it has the exact same probem! (of course he won't respond to my email or calls!) I think the resort you mentioned is South Seas. They just opened back up. Been closed since Charlie. They REALLY took a hit. The wing house isn't there anymore. There is a pretty popular one on US41 in Ft. Myers. (I'm in foodservice) Seems like I'm always looking for parts! I'll definately keep you in mind. How bout sending me a PM with your email address. rswyt@swfla.rr.com Thanks!
I have been using Desert Dog and they do nice work. Cost is $300 plus $50 for return shipping. www.desertdogautoparts.com I ship the bumpers by FedEx Ground for about $20 each.
I should have asked you in the first place! George, I'm glad I checked back here! Thanks for the great lead. Do they do repairs? I have two fronts that need to be reworked and one rear core that needs a complete overhaul! Robert
Yes they will make it like new. They do charge extra if there are holes. Call Bob Cline at DD and talk about your needs.
John, You got it! Just got it from the paint shop on Sat...........I almost fell over........looks awesome in Stratomist Blue......love that color. Check out the webpage ! Here is one pic!
Thanks George! I'll give him a call. BTW Nice paint job on that convertable. I'm parcial to the color but that is really nice. Robert
