Guys, I need some help. I am searching for a machine shop to do some work on my smallblock.
I know there a plenty of shops nearby but would like to find someone with first hand recommendations. This is the numbers matching motor and I'm a bit nevervous to just have anyone work on it. Just looking to have
There was a well recommended shop nearby called Burtonsville Performance Machine but I waited too long and they no longer perform motor work, only heads now.

I am willing to travel a few hours if needed from the Northern Virginia area.

There's a shop in Bladensburg (M&O I believe) that only does crank work/turning & line boring & so I'm going to have him do that on my next 350 build (stroker w/NASCAR t/o rods) & then probably have JB machine in Baltimore do the rest of the block work (unless I take it out to Cody in OH). Unfortunately I don't have any 1st hand knowledge of JB's work but they seem to have a good rep. Hopefully whoever does my head porting can handle any machine work that they need.

Not many places left around here.

I'm also not building my #'s matching engine as want to get this one decked/squared. I have a block/crank here & just need to get all my bearings (need to send a set of mains out for coating).

Also, @nickbuickgs (Philly) just posted that he's going to be concentrating on engine work.

Is Manlove the place that did your 455? I'd forgotten about him.

Just FYI, Manlove Auto in Dover, the machinist Mike retired in Sept. He did all my stuff.
They have a new guy that is running the shop, haven't used him yet, but I hear he is good.
