First let me say that I've read all the info I could find on the BCA site, and in the Bugle. Plenty of generic stuff there, but I'm looking for more in-depth details regarding what specific incorrect items on a car would warrant a DQ on the show field for the BCA National Driven Award. I have emailed Patrick Brooks, who I understand basically created this class, and usually judges it, but haven't heard back, I imagine he may be a little busy after the Batavia event. I have read references to a car needing to have "period correct" parts in order to be eligible. I have a number of items that do not belong on a 68, and 2 obvious aftermarket parts, and I suspect they might be automatic DQ deals for my car. Not saying I would change them, but I want to know before I find myself in Rochester in 2006. The obvious problems I suspect would be my Grant steering wheel, repro 70-72 overflow tank, and open element chrome air cleaner. Anything else is Buick, but doesn't belong on a 68 model. Any and all commentary regarding the judging criteria is welcome. :TU:
All I know is that a dual master on my 64 DQ'd it from the Driven class. Wheels count but headlights and tires don't ??????????? Condition isn't supposed to count either. Do a search on the BCA site, I know Pat Brooks put a few post about it out there. Larry
Yeah, I was going to do some searches on the forums there, but don't have my password here at work, so I couldn't do much in that respect, until tonight maybe.
