Trying to find unique topics for my forum and came up with this idea... There have been some pretty outrageous Buick engines built so I thought it'd be fun to capture images of them all in a new forum category I've started called Outrageous Buick Engines! (or something like that - I haven't completely decided yet) and I'm looking for help to fill it up. If you know of any super-modified Buick engine pics, post links and we'll start what should be a fun place to visit for inspiration or simply to marvel at the technology and ingenuity of some of the more 'adventurous' builders. I'm picturing, supercharged, turbocharged, multi-carbed, polished painted and plated, Here's the sort of thing I'm talking about...
Thanks Alan, I actually had your engine as one of the 'must haves'. It's up, do you have a picture of the car to go with it?
Hey Bill did you catch the posting here by the fellow who has the 66 Skylark Gran Sport that was "Factory Backed by Buick" he posted all the pics and documentation on it. Forgot which thread it was on but thought it would make a good addition to your site. Hey post your Nailhead on this thread too with that stealthy Gessler intake we both own.
Jim it's over on Da Nailhead under Can a Nailhead run 12 and be streetable. Sorry to get off track with this thread
Bill - Although I don't have a picture of it, the twin supercharged 455 that Kenne-Bell did should be considered a 'must have'!!:TU: Very cool looking GSX!!!:bglasses: :TU:
Is there actually a Buick supercharger or do you have to make your own equipment for them? Anyways those are sweet and I would use any of them to blow any car away.
From a Buick 8 Man perfect thread to post this ( I think it should have been the cover of the King book)
Jake, that straight-8 is one sweet bit of engineering. I wish I had taken photos the one time I got to see it.
Jake is that the straight 8 thats turbo'd and has fuel injection. The guy is from Havre 90 miles from me. Sold him a 401 nail head for one of his projects. If thats the guy he moved to Columbus closer to you. Thanks Rick Never did get to see the car
Jake, do you have a bigger/better picture of that turb straight 8. It's ubercool! ScottB, do you have any other details on it. If I can track down a pic on the net then I'll post it for sure. The word Buick isn't even to be found on the http://www.Kenne-bell.com site Scott(lark), thanks , already got it - it's a beauty. :TU: Doug, I'll throw it on there but didn't want it to be the first one. It'll go on today. John, I'll go and check it out. Don't suppose you have the thread link handy do you?
Bill - I think the owner's name is Ollie Colteryahn. Somebody here surely knows more about it than I do. I seem to recall there being a problem with the engine and the car being out of commision for a while.o No: It may be on Popular Hot Rodding's site somewhere.
Go to http://www.bgnra.org/ET_Twin_Supercharged_GS.jpg It has the pic of the car launching. Dave Benisek was involved with this car.
