my poor skylark finaly said it has had enough. after i noticed it was missing on one of the cylinders, i pulled the plugs and lo and behold oil and carbon had closed the gap on the plug. a compresion test revealed #s as low as 60 and even 42 on one of them. i was hoping she would hold out a little longer, but i guess i can't complain. she has held up well and deserving of a rebuild. unfortunatly money is tight right now and i need to find a complete kit for a good price. i don't plan on taking her to the track, but i do want reliability. i would realy apreciate any advice on where i could get one. i found one from performance suspension technology for $540 with all nessesary pieces. my father-in-law owns a shop so were going to rebuild it ourselves. thanks in advance for any info you're willing to share. everyone on the board has been great. thanks again.

TAperformance.com has some too. I'm pretty sure paw catalog has them too.

With low compression, take a look at the valves, might have a burnt exhuast valve, or more. It is real common on our old motors.

    Good luck

NAP is an old secret kinda. FOr a long time the only wayto get a catalog was to pretend to be a busines. No wholesale license needed but you had to play it up. They have and allways had great deals that made you wonder aboutthem it was so good.

I also just purchased a master kit for my 350 from Flatlander Racing. I was very happy with the products they used in the kit and the fast shipping. I would highly recommend them. :TU:

Anybody heard of perfomance suspension technology? They have a complete kit for about $540 that comes with cam, pushrods, oil pump kit, rocker arm kit. They also have perfomance upgrades, though I'll probably go stock.

Havent heard of them, but the price seems a bit high. Here is what I recieved from Flatlander.
Rod, main & cam bearings, .30 pistons (flat top), rings, complete gaskets set including turkey pan, oil pump kit, camshaft (stock), lifters, timing chain and gears and assembly lube.
    Price was $255.19 + $20.00 freight.
All items were brand name except the cam and lifters which were "no name". Badger pistons, Clevite bearings & Victor gaskets. Everything was correct and fit like it should. I thought this was a pretty good price.
I would suggest that you have a good machine shop check everything prior to ordering any parts. Both of my heads were cracked, very common on 350"s, and I also had to replace the crank and rods. The right exhaust manifold was also cracked, again pretty common on these babies. These items can be tough to find if you need them. I went through 3 sets of junkyard heads before I found a set of good ones. Now I have a spare set of heads and manifolds.
I am coming down the home stretch with mine. Good luck with yours. Any questions give me a yell
