Not willing to pay that much...... how about 3oo :Brow: . Just kidding thanks for the offer and take care.
Mine is not really that bad will probally get a patch panel from MRBuick and fix it. Just looking for one that is a deal that some one doesn't need. They are usually all way to expensive here on the board due to the fact that everyone knows what there worth. I have a lead on one here local that is from 4 door arizona car for 150 bucks. Hopefully will work out.

whats a unrestored rust free 70 worth.I have one i removed from a 455/4 speed 20 years ago.The complete 4/speed set up went into one owner gold 455 convertible that has not seen the light of day in twenty years.

    Guys,
Kleiner was selling restored 71-72's only. He was not selling any 70's.

I figure a Concours correct restored 70 with the right date code would bring $1200 to the right buyer. Of course that is after it is repaired, blasted, primered, and painted. In my opinion if a guy had a 70 car then a correct original 70 support is worth a lot more then an NOS 71-72 style.

    Bill,
"whats a unrestored rust free 70 worth?"

That would depend on the date code and how much work was involved in straightening/working on it. The guys that are paying good money for these want them to be correct for their car or they keep looking.

Kleiner did a little more then a little work and some Krylon to his core supports.

    Joe C,
I agree, Dave made sure everything was correct, straight, etc and then blasted, put the parts in epoxy primer, and then painted them.

I know of no one, including myself, that could ever have an issue with Dave's work. It is exceptional, period.

You hit the nail on the head Duane .Having fixed many of those core supports myself ,folks sometimes dont realize how time you can actually spend on piece like a core support .And then you cover it up with an inner fend & battery. CRAZY! Take care .Joe C

    Larry,
SAE 70 will be stamped next to the headlight opening for the highbeams.
All replacements according to Buick Apostle Duane were stamped SAE71 or SAE72. So having an SAE70 would mean that car has the original 70 from Buick and that is why they are in demand. I will get a pic tonight and post it here for you to see.

    Guys,
There were actually 3 different types of 70-72 core supports available.
    Original 70 (SAE 70)
    Original 71-72 (SAE 71)
    Replacement 71-72 also (SAE 71)

All 3 types were built differently and can visually be ID'd.
    Duane

PS. The SAE numbers designate the first year they were put into production and have nothing to do with the date codes.

Once again, Duane comes throught with all the info! :beer

Here is a pic of an original 70 core support. Location of numbers are indicated by arrows. Left arrow indicates BMD43 with SAE H70 below.

Right arrow indicates part number for left side (headlight stamping), 1231395, pass side is 1231394

Notice in prior pic, no headlight bearings/rub pads on 70 models. 71-2 models had these. I will have an article on our site tonight covering this info.

Here is a close up of the 70 production code. I will have to take a pic of the date code once Duane tells me where to look. LOL !
