I started the rebuild of the TH400 today by laying out all the parts. The kit is a stage 2 from Jakes Performance. Having laid it out I found that I have only one torrington (rear case) but no torringtons for the Center Support, Rear Ring Gear, or the Sun Gear. I do have one torrington for the Forward Clutch Hub to Direct and a thrust washer for the Foward Clutch Hub to Housing. It's probably not going to get me very far contacting Jake as the kit has sat on a shelf in my workshop since I purchased it in 2015, so can someone point me in the direction of a torrington bearing kit that will have the required bearings? He is a good guy, I have dealt with him before. I’m sure he will make it right. He understands life sometimes gets in the way of projects.
Hi Matt Thanks, I'm sure Jake is a good guy, but to be honest I wouldn't ask because although I'm 100% sure the torringtons were not in the box I could be wrong. I've contacted the guys over here that rebuilt the converter to see if they have a kit. ........... One bearing set ordered. Took some doing, not a lot of tranmissions shops over here have Th400 stocks. In fact two that I contacted hadn't seen a TH400 in at least 5 years.
@TexasT Like I said I'd not impose on Jake, I could have lost the barings sometime in the nearly 5 years the box sat on a shelf. My fault so I'll take the hit. .....and I live in the UK so it's quicker to get a set in the UK, or so I thought.
