We saw the pics awhile back of the Riv. that you were building for the pinewood derby. How is it coming? Any more pics?

We started ours last night. One is a normal race car and my youngest son's is going to be a Hummer! Talk about the aerodynamics of a brick! I would love to build a GS with the details of your Rivera but I am not the artistic type. So I am trying to build a GS just from the block of wood from the kit. We'll see what it turns out like. I really need to take the time to learn how to post pics here.

    Yo Jimmy.

I have been working like mad on it (as well as 20 other projects too - I just redid the taillight wiring harness for the Riv one wire at a time...).

I have layered on Bondo, then sanded it off, then layered more on. I use a high-solids content primer to fill sand marks. I paint it over and over to see where I need to work on it more.

Today I think I layered on the last of the Bondo. We'll see if it is how I like it when I sand it all smooth again.

I will paint on the windows and bumpers. Instead of the body crease down the side I'll just paint a pinstripe there to simulate it.

I'll post more pics when I've primered it for the last time and after I paint it.

Sounds good. I can't wait to see it!

If they do have a parents class then I will finish the GS but it will definitly be illegal. I will add washers to the wheels as well as cut down the axles and whatever else I can think of. The washers inside the wheels may help like a heavy flywheel. A little slow on the down hill but maintain more speed on the flat part. Is this a good idea? I have never tryed it.
