Motor Age Bite Me!!! Motor Age is a bunch of tree huggers, if it was up to them we all would be a 3rd world country riding a Jack Ass to work! AL.
They are? uzzled: I think I recieve this by email because of my subscription to Motor. And now that you mention it, they do push hybrids quite a bit. I usually just glean it for recall info, and not much more. But, regarding this, I am sure the environmental lobbyist are behind it!
they are so extreme they might even kiss trees!! this is a good article http://www.motorage.com/motorage/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=88747 :3gears:
Hexchrome Hexchrome is in the process of being eliminated from current production vehicles. In fact it may be already gone. HTH
Is your chrome worth someones life? I grew up in Flint and everyone worked for GM. It was well know by the late 60's that working in chrome plating was a good way not to retire. My best friends dad was one of many that went out of there on disabiltiy and died young. So if we have to pay more to have the service done safely so be it.
Hexavalent chrome is the "old chrome". It is generally only used on autos anymore for one-off prototype show cars and some restorations. The chrome most common today is trivalent chrome. There is a big difference in appearance and durability between the two chemistries. Most car people will not be affected by this mandate.
