69 rivi without the electric pump in the tank, i took it out the tank only because i could not get anyone to rebuilt my oe unit. This is what i done took the pump out the tank and ran a pump on the block, i ran all the line from the tank to the pump and its working good just have one problem. After time i get to where im going and pop the hood theres only a little fuel in the clear inline filter i installed hell some times theres no fuel there, an here the big but the car will still pull strong an hammer down with no stalling. My question is should my inline filter be before or after the mechanical pump? Mine is set after the pump. The tank is vented also.

We have places listed that will rebuild the electric pump with a quick turn around.

When I pull the line from the filter the pressure is very high an after doing this I can plug it back up start the car an the filter then will become filled with gas.

Factory quadrajet has the filter built into the front. I'd say that's a good enough reason to run it after the pump.

The empty filter is just from fuel drain back. If it bothers you try putting a check valve in line to keep the fuel from going backwards.
