Several of us were enjoying the discussions at the hotel Friday evening and all of us were in a good mood until I said I hadn't seen Dave Dudek and wondered if I'd missed him and if he was there. I think it was Steve Hodges that told us why he wasn't there. Definitely brought us back to what the important things really are. Want you to know Dave you are in our thoughts and prayers. Look forward to seeing you and that beautiful car down the road. Ted & Mary Ann
Dave, While I'm not usually the cheer leader type, let me tell you about a friend of mine. I was dating his sister at the time and she asked me if I would stop and see if I could interest him in going to a car show or drag race or such to get him out of the house. He had been found to have cancer and did not have a good prognosis. Now, 25 years after his operations and treatments, I still stop in to see him every week to be sure he knows he hasn't been forgotten. I'm wishing you the best for what you are going through. I'm sure lots of other people do as well.
I talked to Dave last night, and he was in pretty good spirits... he knows what he is up against and is ready for the fight... good news is, it's a winnable fight. Get well soon Dave !
Thanks guy's.. it's been a rough couple of months, but now we finally have a diagnosis and we finally know why I was in so much pain.. I have cancer of the Lymph system Stage 3. It's gonna be a battle but I am certain we can beat this.. Actually, i'm sitting at the hospital right now with the Chemo running through my veins as we speak (about 3 hr process). My family/friends and I are gonna tackle this head on. Thanks for the caring messages, it really means alot.
Dave, you are in our prayers. I have had too many cancer battles within my family (blood and extended). As I am sure you already know, your "lets kick its ass" attitude plays a big part in it. If you tackle this with the same tenacity you seem to do with the cars, you WILL win! Good luck Dave!
Hey, Dave, if you get your body in FAST mode you will be unbeatable - even cancer won't stand a chance!
Dave You have friends all over the place sending "Good Thoughts and Prayers" to you. Carol and I are on the list. Take care and "God Bless."
Never met you Dave but i know who you are from the countless magazine articles about you & your awesome cars.:TU: Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!!
We can and will pray for you at church tomorrow. Attitude is a major player in this, if you think you can beat it, you will. I have a buddy who cotracted Lukemia at 55, he's now in his early 70's and still working!
Dave, My thoughts and prayers are with you. Short story to keep your fighting spirit up. My mother-in-law is a 5-time cancer survivor. First diagnosed at 37, she is now 69, and cancer-free. She's had breast (2x), lung, and bone cancer and beat them all. Been as far as hospice, and recovered. Her last bout happened last December with tumors around her upper spine, very difficult to remove safely without damage to the spine, paralysis, nerve damage, etc. First hospital said Chemo for 10 sessions. Second opinion said two words: CYBER KNIFE. Four more words: Henry Ford West Bloomfield. She literally was so weak and in so much pain they wheeled her into HFWB in a wheelchair. 45 minutes later she walked out with PET scan results showing she was cancer free! Pain and incision free. Left the hospital and went shopping! Here's the kicker...the surgeon performed the procedure remotely from Henry Ford Detroit! True story. Not sure if this type of treatment will work for your cancer type, but if you or anybody else out there has cancer and treatment isn't progressing as far or fast as you would like, it may be worth looking into. Wishing you a speedy recovery, John
