Don’t remember where I ordered this from, probably Rock Auto, but it seems nice and thick, thicker than the last one. Finally bolting on my SRE pan, and the gasket is going on dry except for a dab of RTV where the rear main cap mates with the block and the same with the timing cover.
Mark ,...do yourself a favor here,..I'm a leak obsessive asshole,....dry is fine BUT,...let it sit a couple days then resnug,..not retorque,...that cork is gonna compress,...after your retighten,..take some ultra grey or black,..and put it into to the perimeter of the pan,..nice and firm ,..it will stay dryer than a 100 yrold cooter
I purposely left the Allen wrench on the pan to go around again tomorrow, then I’ll use the impact, JK. 100 year old cooter
That's a nice thick gasket. Much thicker than the Fel-pro's. Wonder if they're available neoprene coated? Ever try a rubber gasket instead of cork? Do like Ethan says, seal the piss out of it.... leaks suck.
i buy all my gaskets thru rockauto. felpro h/g for $3.00 is great. try to stay w/felpro. sold them since early 70's. v/c has been on the engine forever. no leaks. matter of fact, no gasket leaks ever. even with a blower and rpms. don't make a mole hill into a mountain
I bought the Fel Pro blue head gaskets when they were on sale at Rock Auto for 10.00, always used the “blues” never had an issue. You use the blues with a blower also? I’m aiming for 12 to 1 or close, WHEN the machine shop is done with ‘em.
if you ever saw my threads on the former bpg site, the 350 engine is my r&d project. it never gets done. i prove you can use normal stuff to build a 350. have plenty of pieces/parts that were not to my liking in my garage. lol
