    Found link through GSCA club.

Been a Buick fan for many years. First Buick was a 69 GS400 bought in Maine around 1977, bought it for three hundred bucks, the guy had teenage sons getting up there to driving age, guess he was afraid they were gonna kill themselves. I broke those kids hearts when I drove out with the Buick GS that day.

It was kansas car and for Maine it was rust free. My previous ride was a chevy Biscayne three on the column with a straight six. Needless to say, the ride home, some hundred miles was pure thrill. I feared passing no one at anytime. I left many a mopar in the rear view. I was in heaven. But with all things and especially with the young and foolish, it came to an end. Put it into two guard rails. The GS was crap iron. I've never forgiven myself, but time marches on and I got married and somewhat settled down.

The wife and I owned several skylarks, some with 350 2 brl and one with a 350 High-comp 4 brl, it was no GS400, but was all I had the money to afford,

Looked for other GS but could find none in a price range for a young man with kids.

In 87, I found a 71 riv, with about 80k and not too rusted, not too expensive, I drove it during the summer only and kept it garaged. Joined the GSCA club and was all excited about going fast with class. Owned a 70 wildcat as a driver and had much fun with that.

Lost some interest in my Buicks as the kids got older and things like home and family became paramount, But always kept my 71 riv and wifes 70 350 skylark from Amos and Andy's Buick garaged and taken out for an occasional romp.

Finally got my 71 riv painted last year and several years prior had some Brooklin Buick lunatic take my heads and upgrade to Stage 1.

This year its time for the 70 skylark to get some work. I haven't been able to get it inspected recently because I lost my inspection man, he moved, its got a exhaust manifold leak, where the previous owner snapped off a bolt, which of course has gotten progressively worse.

Maine sucks, we are ruled by a bunch of Nazis, and they want everything perfect.

Anyway, while I have several BB and 1 small block engine in the back 40, I think I'm gonna stick with the SB on the wife's Skylark. I'm in a quandary as to what to do, patch up the old short block and get by for awhile. Or do a rebuild for a fresh one.

I'll ask some questions now and again, so bear with me. Best
