Hello. I had disc brakes put on my wagon (was power drum). They work kind of crappy, I think it is the wrong proportioning valve & tube diameters for the front discs. I want manual disc brakes. What do I need to do/get (hopefully used stuff from V8Buick guys or evilbay)?
    Thanx.

Thanx Bob. What is bumper to bumper? I may contact you about buying your master. I have a NIB master for a 73, manual disc, Regal. If it won't work, I will need one.
    Thanx.

This is the correct combo valve. Will require new lines from master to combo.

that prop valve looks like the original style . believe he will have to purchase a reproduction from gm or inline tube.

I sell the original style combo valves as seen in the pic for $40+ ship.

To do the job correctly, get the new lines from master to combo valve. Also, make sure you have new rubber hoses to the caliper and system is bled properly. Also, good idea to check rear rubber hose from frame to pumpkin to make sure rear brakes are working well.

Up to you if you want an original combo or reproduction valve.

Thanx George, that is quality info you shared. I do not care about originality at all. I may have one of the valves off of a 70-72 power disc brake Monte Carlo. Do ya' think it will work?

Monte Carlo models from 70-2 use the same disc brake set-up as the A-bodies. Your MC combo valve will be a direct bolt-on and will work fine.

On manual disc brake swaps, don't forget the correct length small rod that goes from the pedal to back of master cylinder.

On the '71+ combination style prop valves, good used will usually work if off running parts car with a solid pedal. Though I pick a few '71-72 A-body wagons every year of discs. quit pulling the prop valves off them, as they are biased more to the rear & in installing one (by accident) on '69 Deluxe 300, we had premature rear drum lock up.

    Got Posi?
