I know its been posted on here that a S-10 steering box works on Regals, but....has anybody used a 68-72 manual steering box on one? Just wondering as I have several of these and all the "used parts emporiums" around do not have any from a S-10, the mounting holes are located in the same place, but not sure if the pitman arm will work from the Regal. I know I'm cheap! :Dou:

Called my buddy up about this. He used an S-10 manual box, but he's pretty certain that all the manual boxes are basically the same. He used the pitman arm from the car. Like you said you have a whole bunch of them, wouldn't hurt to try.

BTW...He's looking forward to racing you someday. He's always admired your wheelstands and has always wanted to talk with you. Last year his quickest time in an 83 T-type (2995 lbs) was 11.2 with a 430. I think that was at Quaker City in September. He's looking for 10's this year with his Stage 2 motor.

Thanks Joe/David, I apprieciate it, stop by and introduce yourself next time, we'll be at Norwalk and most of the other Buick events. Worked on the Regal most of the weekend, trying to go alittle faster without spending alot more money. And just tightening up little details that you don't get a chance to do during the race season(the only GOOD part about winter).

I tried a steering box from a 68-72 "A"-body today, the pitman arm is what is different, it will bolt on to the frame and the steering shaft splines are the same, but the size of the pitman arm shaft is different. So, looks like I need to start looking around for a S-10 box after all, unless I can talk myself into buying/installing steering rack, less wieght/more money.

    Thanks, talk to you later.

i put a manual box on my regal.
All gm manual boxes are the same its the arm that is diferent.
I think the arm goes on one way so just swap the arms out.

    you'll love the change!!!
