What are the main differences between a manual and an automatic carb? I have a 69 manual Q-jet and want to put it on my 72 455 automatic. Can it be modified to work?

In 1970 the primary and secondary vacuum break adjustments, the secondary opening adjustment and fast and slow idle speeds are all different. None of the differences are much and I bet that most folks wouldn't notice a difference. Regardless, a 70 auto carb could be adjusted into manual configuration and vice-versa. I suspect things might be different though, going from '69 to '72. For one thing the '72 carb is an 800 cfm; the '69 a 750. Overall calibration is considerably different with respect to fuel metering.
