I don`t know what all the ET`s were but nearly everybody who attended set new personal best. Tomorrow`s weather looks flawless and if guy`s want to come out and play you`ll be allowed 3 or 4 passes to set your qualifying ET, before we set the ladder for eliminations. Just over 20 cars showed up today, if you have the means get out there and race tomorrow..
Got in 36 runs!!! Good run after good run...Track was Hookin hard.. wish the head wind would of gone away- but crazy day. Saw alot of personal bests. I think that road runner time might fall..... Sorry dave. Theres a blonde with crosshairs on the hood.
I had planned on making the event, i`m sick that I could not make it out. This cancer thing is getting in the way of my fun, damn. Next year i`m not missing anything..
oh yeah.... it's hooking. my hampster powered MPP ripped of a 1.89 and 1.87 sixty foot times........... you guys should be here.
Not only was the track well prepped and hooking, but the air density (air temp @ 48 degrees F) was terrific. 12:53 pm density altitude +187 feet 1:53 pm density altitude +98 feet 2:53 pm density altitude -197 feet 3:53 pm density altitude -228 feet 4:53 pm density altitude -211 feet 5:53 pm density altitude -217 feet Not quite mineshaft air, but way better than your normal summer day.
Here are a few photos from the race. Anyone who thinks Martin doesn't hook, Jim's COPO was lifting the left front about 1 1/2", wish I could have caught it with the camera. Larry's Corvette was looking good too.
The track was beyond hooking, Rhondas Little 350 that could was pulling 1.9- 2.0 60fts .On BF Goodrich radials Usually high 2.1's I had a Blast !!! I was like a retarded hampster on a wheel. Made 36 passes on the first day, just working on shift points and launch techniques.:3gears: With 3.73 gears the car normally runs 13.70's to 13.80's -- I have 15 runs in the 13.50's.. and worked all my pro tree lights down to a slew of .030- .070 ... Thats a whole lottaa Test and tune for $110 Some of you guys really lost out. Paul.... where the heck was my lasagna ????? Pasta tease !!!!! 2nd day.. had a STRONG head wind, Everyone slowed a tenth or 2 and lost 1-2 MPH . Butt the hook made up for alot. Tried throwing Jeremy's spare tire off the F-450 in the trunk 100+lbs. car hooked so hard it bogged out the car. would of been a good run... Took it back out REAL QUICK. Got Ted Harbit for my shootout. Congrats on your win- I tried- Good lights and a good 60 couldn't stop the freight train tomato. I think the second run got you a little worried:grin: Ohh yea. The run that Julies car lunched the rear end, would of been amazing!! 1.54 60ft!!!!!!!!!! top that cartoon cars- beep beep
Julie's Corvette shucked another rear end several years ago too. How many hundreds of runs had she made before this one went away? Who knows. Could always put 12 bolt gears in it. They're stronger and can be made to fit I understand.
I think I offered up my clutch to the starting line Gods Steve Hodges broke and stopped 100 ft out. It took 6 guys to push the car backwards because it was glued in place........ yeah, it was hooking.
Martin was hooking for sure. The 1.86 I felt the left front sit back down in the steering wheel. I have no pic to prove it but sure felt bad a$$. I have a new personal best 12.66 @ 106.27. I skipped the 70's all together as previous personal was 12.81 So ya I had a blast
Here is link to my photo album from the weekend. http://photobucket.com/Martin2012October I'll post photos here tomorrow. Dave
