Just Wondering What The True Hp Limit Is On A Quadrajet? Has Anyone Dynoed A Highly Modified 455 With A Quadrajet?
We have several in use in pretty high powered applications. Most recently on a 428 engine in a FAST Class Firebird that dyno'd just shy of 700hp. We have another one in service at 735hp on a 455 powering a 67 GTO, runs 9.80's around 136mph, and one on a SBC power Camaro running Super Stock, low 9's over 150mph. Not sure where the limit is, but the large cfm Buick carbs are what we use for building our high HP units if a divorced choke style carburetor is required.......Cliff
