I don't want to cut against the grain here with so many negative feedback on this board about CARS, but I ordered something anyway. I needed some things for my 455 project (smaller parts- formed hoses, a decal, a wingnut, a pilot bearing) anyway I ordered Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Package arrived today @ 10:00 AM !!!! I was shocked, I've never had anything come from NJ to Mass., that fast. The guy on the phone was nice, discussed some questions I had, and even told me his name (Victor) and told me if I needed anything else, ask for him. Just thought I'd throw this out there. Paul
I need to order some plastic centers for my wheel caps and have been hesitant.......perhaps I'll splurge. I wonder if D!ck still works there?:Brow:
cars they get a bad rap everywhere!!!! they were being bad mouthed on the BCA web sight to. it might be finally sinking in as to their attitude.
it might be finally sinking in as to their attitude I hope so, believe it or not some of the parts I need, are cheaper there than YO or other vendors Paul
No, I believe Dick is gone. Which would explain the turn-around in customer service. I only ordered from them once, 4 years ago, and was so put off by his attitude I've never ordered again. I will look into them again for stuff from now on. They are only about 45 minutes from me. Maybe some Saturday I'll take the Buick for a cruise and stop by there. Great avatar Paul.
Thanks Yardley- People say I'm obsessed!! Just looked at the avatar lsit in the User CP and noticed someone put the Born to Run cover in there to choose from. That wasn't there a month ago. I wonder how it got there???
I found them helpful and shipped fast. Also were happy to ship over to the UK which some vendors STILL won't do.
I had ordered from them about three years ago. Very disappointed with the service. Maybe they'll be worth another try if I need something.
The owner (Glenn) was aware that there were problems. He made the effort to contact past customers to see about their satisfaction(or lack of). I expected that there would be some changes and am hoping for good things to come-
I ordered a package tray he told me he was out of stock but would direct ship me one and within 4 days I had a package tray in my car heading home with it. All the way to Kansas!!
CARS has never been a problem for me- I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for Buick parts. These guys are definately top shelf and have never let me down.
Carl, I don't doubt your good fortune with CARS and I think it's great that you've never had any problems with them. That said, you are way way in the minority. Consider yourself beyond lucky. Their reputation is horrific. Hopefully this last couple of good experiences will become a trend with CARS. They couldn't possibly go anywhere but up as far as I'm concerned.
The one thing I DO like about CARS is that they bring a ton of stuff to the Nationals. When Year One used to come all they brought was catalogs. I've never ordered form CARS but I usually find a few goodies worth buying each year at the Nats.
Nope. I put that there a year and a half ago... You either didn't see it, or it was somehow removed from the list then added again.
one of the unique things about CARs is that they actually MAKE stuff.....or have it made for them, as opposed to some of the bigger outfits who just rep. stuff for manufacturers. Over the years Glenn has really done us a big service by bringing us parts that no one else has..... .....Lets hope he's finally done himself and his business an even bigger service by working to change what has become a bad rap. I guarantee anyone, that if you meet and talk to Glenn, you will have made a new Buick Friend
Glenn is a great guy. When things there screwed me over, he got to the bottom of it and fixed the problem for me well. The only problem was contacting him, I had to go through Ray Knott from ROA b/c the guys who answer the phone would not put me through to him. After he got involved, my parts arrived next day air at no extra charge for shipping and the credit I had coming was given to me. He was not too happy when I told him what happenned. I think that it was an employee problem, and not his fault.:bglasses:
Joe, I'm glad it worked out for you but when you are a business owner, it is always your fault. Your problem wasn't an isolated incident. My guess is Glen had that wall put up for a reason. Larry
I don't know if D!ck was a family member or what the story was, but perhaps Glenn trusted him too much. I don't go down easy, and when he tried to screw me over I fought back with an iron fist......I don't let anybody bully me, especially over the phone. I'll tell you, I was so mad I almost made the 8 hour drive to Neshanic NJ to deal with this problem in person. D!ck would have looked pretty silly with a few Buick parts hanging out his......I'll stop here. You get my point.:bglasses:
