McLeod Aluminum BUICK flywheel: 67-69 400/430 and 70-76 455. This is practically NOS..Looks like it was mounted but I cannot see any wear at all! The disc area looks like it never saw a disc or pressure plate! So, because of its superior o/a condition, I'm going to call it NEW: Lightweight billet aluminum at just 13.5 LBS! Thats over 50 lbs less rotational weight than the factory steel flywheel!!! 13.250" inches overall aluminum width and 14" inches measured across the 165T ring gear. 10.5 inches of disc surface. NEARLY PERFECT CONDITION. I have scuffed up the disc surface area with scotchbrite and I do NOT believe it will need to be resurfaced and I tied to show the original factory surface wheel markings in one of the pictures...! HISTORY: I have been collecting Buick 4 speed parts since 1971. This McLeod flywheel was in protected dry storage for many years... I called McLeod in California yesterday to try to get some details and I was told this by the sales manager: McLeod stopped making this ultra rare Buick flywheel back in 2003-04 when Borg Warner bought McLeod...Borg Warner was basically Pontiac for many years and didnt feel the need to manufacture special application Buick aluminum flywheels since the demand was negligible. SO, the last PRODUCTION BUICK ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL was produced in late 2003, early 2004. This one, is one of the last "special application aluminum BUICK FLYWHEELS EVER PRODUCED according to the sales rep at McLeod. YES...McLeod will still custom manufacture an aluminum flywheel for our Buicks but at $679 price tag and 120 days delivery!!! Yikes.
